Hi, we're Go Indies.
We host websites for independant bands, labels, and visual artists. Simple. Easy. Nothing mind-blowing about that... we believe that setting up a site should be simple.
More importantly, we believe in the independant spirit of the community. We don't think MySpace is the place for indie bands and businesses -- helping support dear old Rupert Murdoch and his squad of Fox News "journalists" just isn't worth a bit of free server space. Sure, a TON of people are on there, but we believe that, like shopping at Walmart, some things just aren't worth the money saved.
Every band needs pretty much the same thing in a website: a way for fans to hear your music, a list of show dates, a photo gallery, and some add-ons, like message boards and shopping carts to sell your merch. Every hosting account at Go Indies comes with all this (and more) included.
What's In It for You?
Each one of our hosting plans comes with a pre-installed mp3 player, so your site visitors can hear your music without the hassle of downloading it. Basically you upload your tracks to your website and they play.
Besides that, each hosting plan comes with a pre-installed image gallery. Once again, all you do is upload your images to your website, click a link, and hey, your pics are organized in a clean, simple Flash gallery.
Also, all of our plans come with a ton of scripts for message boards, shopping carts, chatrooms, mailing lists -- the works. It's all available to you and the Go Indies team is here to help you set it up. Here's more info on all the included features.
What We're Not
We're not a multi-national media conglomerate trying to stick our hands deeper into the Internet pie. We're not a quasi-political organization or a group of knee-jerk activists. We're not a religious sect nor fascinated by UFOs. We're not a standard-issue web-hosting company that just wants your credit card number and hopes you stay put and shut up. We believe in the independant community and think you deserve better!
We've attempted to simplify the set up and usage of your website, but we've got a full-time support staff to help out with any technical questions in case you get stuck. Beyond that, we're happy to assist with setting up your shopping carts, message boards or other software.
What We *Are*
All of us at Go Indies are working musicians, students, artists, and active participants in the indie scene. We've put our service together based on years of experience setting up our own sites -- back in 1996 there was no MySpace!
